Superyacht Training

Sail in Asia offers International Yacht Training (IYT) for both professional and recreational yachtsmen and women. Sail in Asia provides the training and certification you need for jobs on commercial vessels or private superyachts.

The Deck hand Course is the perfect way to get moving quickly on your career training for Superyachts. This course compliments the required STCW95 course with a basic set of yachting and boat handling skills that will help your placement on a superyacht as a deckhand. It is the minimum first step for a professional career in sailing and the superyacht industry.

VHF Radio - This one day course will prepare you to obtain your Radio Operator's Licence - a highly desired qualification for Superyacht Crew.

During this one day course you will have a total of 7 hours of workshop instruction in radio operation, including emergency calls, calling ship to ship, ship to shore, types of marine radios, rules and regulations governing radio use locally and in foreign ports.

You will receive the required forms, certificates and examination for your radio operator's license.

The RIB Master power boat handling courses have been designed by Sail in Asia as a means of extending training for candidates who maywish to either complete the International Certificate of Competence (CEVNI - Inland ICC) or to cover the needs and requirement of a motor boat user within coastal waters in Europe (ICC - Coastal). THe ICC component is a further one day course and involves students in learning more about tides, IRPCS, lights and shapes and other pertinent knowledge.

The role of a RIB is varied. It can be used to support a larger yacht, as a passenger or crew boat for use from yacht to shore, or it may be used as safety support, at a sailing club. A RIB may also be used to provide towing support for a yacht or as a dive boat. Sometimes a RIB safety boat will be required for assistance and as such the operator should be entirely competent in the operation and handling of the vessel. The intention being to prevent situations turning into emergencies.
