STCW95

Sail in Asia is now running STCW 95 courses in Phuket Thailand.  Courses will be conducted in English and are ratified by International Yacht Training. STCW95 training is required for all Superyacht crew working on commercial vessels 24 metres and over. STCW95 is required as part of IYT Coastal Master and Yachtmaster Training.

IYT Certification is world reknowned and MCA approved. STCW95 courses are required by Sail in Asia as precursors to yacht sail training and or qualification for Coastal Master or Master of Yachts qualifications. It is important that clients wishing to have these qualifications talk to SIA and complete the courses locally or be advised where they can complete them. Sail in Asia is delighted to offer guidance and advice to mariners wishing to update or complete STCW95 training.

STCW95 certification is a requirement for a crew position on a mega-yacht but does not, by itself, qualify you for a crew position. You need additional training, certification and experience if you expect a captain to sign you aboard. If you lack these skills and certification, we recommend you sign up for the International Yacht Crew course or RIB Master at the same time, you can save 25% on a special package price for both courses .

This International certification standard from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has the force of law in all the 154 signatory countries.The convention gives the minimum standards of qualifications required by all crew members at various levels depending upon vessel size. All crew involved in any safety or muster must complete the STCW95 course.

The 4 courses will cost $1049 but discounts of up to 25% are available for more than 1 person bookings (ie crews)

Discount Policy
We believe the best way to plan and organise quality courses is to offer our students dscounts, for early booking.
Our discounts are as follows :
Booking more than 3 months in advance 12.5%
Booking more than 2 months in advance 10%
Booking more than 1 months in advance 5%

AGREEMENT FOR GENERAL BOOKINGS :
When a confirmed booking is made and accepted bySail in Asia Co.Ltd (here after referred to as the 'Company' a binding contract shall be deemed to subsist between both parties. No liability shall accrue to either the Company student/passenger if either is prevented from fulfilling any of their contractual obligations by any incidence of force majeure including acts of God, strikes, or any other event which can reasonably be beyond the control of either party. In the event of any dispute arising out of the terms of this contract, it shall be referred to a mutually acceptable arbiter whose decision shall be binding to both parties. It is understood that the student/passenger will indemnify the Company for any non-insurable claims that may be made against it for damage or loss caused by the student/passenger or by members of their party whether wilful or through negligence

INSURANCE: It is advisable to be covered by an insurance policy for the adventure sailing trips to safeguard yourself in the case of cancellation. A copy of the policy is to be forwarded to Sail in Asia.
